Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE), working alongside ACRE network members and government departments, has published guidance for community building committees as they prepare to re-open in line with the next step of the government’s recovery plan. This information sheet provides guidance on how to re-open community buildings safely, as well as offering example risk assessments for both halls and hirers.
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Village Halls and community buildings across the country have remained closed to the public due to restrictions on mass gatherings, internal spaces, and social distancing rules. Following recent government announcements, community centres have been told that they can open from Saturday 4th July, provided they follow ‘COVID Secure’ guidelines.
The Information Sheet can be downloaded from ACRE’s Coronavirus web page, alongside useful blog posts and updates from across the ACRE network by following this link: https://acre.org.uk/rural-issues/coronavirus
